As part of the annual California Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday Sept. 21, the Bay Area Water Ski Club will be partnering with Discovery Bay Yacht Club to help clean-up an area of the Delta where we all love to do our water-sports.
Here’s your opportunity to contribute back to the Delta and help the environment by donating a few hours of your time by removing some trash from the canal areas around the Delta. The clean-up portion of the event will run from 9 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
After our morning of cleaning up the Delta we will then head over to Larry and Gwen’s house in Discovery Bay to eat our lunches followed by an afternoon of skiing/boarding on our newly cleaned waterways.
In support of those who volunteer to participate in the clean-up day the BAWSC Board of Directors has agreed to help fund the boating portion of the day by contributing $25 towards each boat’s fuel cost.
This event has always been a lot of fun in past years where clean-up crews have set challenges for who can find the most unique item and I'm sure this year will be no different.
Additional information on this state wide event can be found at: http://www.coastal.ca.gov/publiced/ccd/about.html
Bring your family and friends and help give back to the environment, meet some new people from the Yacht Club followed by some fun on the water.
